    Corporate Social Responsibility Statement

    Our Approach
    Millbridge aims to conduct its business in a socially responsible and ethical manner. We are committed to being a responsible member of the communities and markets in which we operate and to abide by the laws and regulations applicable to our business. Millbridge’s purpose is to provide cutting edge property and construction advice to its client in the UK and across the rest of Europe.

    The Millbridge Group Plc Board is responsible for ensuring compliance with Millbridge’s corporate values and ethical standards. Millbridge’s corporate social responsibilities can be spilt in to three key categories, namely:-

    • Social concerns and principles;
    • Environmental concerns and principles;
    • Economic concerns and principles.

    Social Concerns and Principles
    We are committed to improving the quality of life for our employees and their families by providing equal opportunities and access to training.

    Our employees are encouraged to attend training seminars and many in house events are organised each year to assist in people’s continuing professional development.

    We strive to provide a comfortable and pleasant working environment with a strict non-smoking policy and regular risk assessments to ensure that workstations remain compliant and offices are free from any deleterious materials.

    Social integration is encouraged via regular social evenings, including bowling, quiz nights, rounders, etc, funded by the Board.

    We recognise family values and offer childcare vouchers to ensure that parents take advantage of the relevant tax incentives.

    Millbridge’s staff appraisals take place on a six monthly basis to monitor progress against key objectives and to identify any training needs.

    Millbridge also encourages involvement and consultation to ensure that employees are informed and consulted on major business changes. This is achieved by our Intranet, emails and regular staff meetings.

    Environmental Concerns and Principles
    We recognise that our business activities may have a direct and indirect impact on the environment. In particular, as designers of buildings, we seek to ensure that our designs offer energy efficient solutions wherever possible.

    We also seek to conserve natural resources, reduce waste and minimise pollution by re-cycling waste paper, switching off lights and electrical appliances when not in use, using low energy light fittings and utilising energy efficient heating systems throughout our offices.

    Millbridge’s environmental policy is regularly reviewed by the Board and Millbridge’s suppliers are assessed on their environmental policies.

    Economic Concerns and Principles
    Millbridge is committed to taking an active role in the communities in which it operates. Where possible, we will use local suppliers, both in terms of professional services, such as sub consultants and building contractors and non core activities, such as local window cleaners, office cleaners, caterers and landscape gardeners.

    We value charitable organisations and make many donations to local charities, particularly at Christmas, in lieu of sending Christmas cards.
